A camouflage mask for the Spitfire Mk.I in 1:32 scale is a set of stencils for spraying the British camouflage scheme. The cut matches the Kotare kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of masking stencils for spraying the camouflage scheme onto a model of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I fighter in 1:32 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory for building. The stencils define the shape of the color fields, so drawing them out from the instructions and laying tape down piece by piece falls away. The cut is made for the kit from Kotare.
The Spitfire Mk.I was the first production form of the best-known British fighter and went into the Battle of Britain with eight machine guns in the wing and a Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine. The early machines had a two-blade wooden propeller, later production pieces a three-blade variable-pitch one. Its hallmark is the elliptical wing, whose shape came about because of the stowage of the landing gear and the armament and became the most quoted detail of the whole design.
First spray the lighter shade over the whole upper surface, and only then lay the stencils down and spray the darker fields. British camouflage had hard edges, so masks suit the subject well. Press the stencil down around its whole edge and on curved surfaces work piece by piece. Spray thin coats from a shorter distance, so that the paint does not creep under. Take the mask off shortly after it has dried and pull it away at an angle along the surface.
