A model of the small Japanese Suzuki Hustler crossover in 1:32 scale from the snap kit range. The parts clip together without glue and the body is molded directly in color, here in the light blue metallic shade Summer Blue Metallic. The model therefore comes together quickly and without an airbrush, yet it looks like a finished miniature car on the shelf.
The Hustler belongs to the Japanese kei category, the smallest class of vehicles with strictly limited dimensions and engine displacement. Suzuki introduced it in the mid-2010s as a playfully styled crossover with a boxy body, round headlights and the option of a two-tone finish with the roof in a contrasting shade. The combination of a tall body, small exterior dimensions and colorful combinations made it one of the most popular cars in its class on the home market. It was not normally sold in Europe, which makes the model all the more interesting.
The angular body with its pronounced edges readily shows a white stress mark left by the sprue gate, so cut the parts a little away from the edge and level the remainder with a sharp knife. The model gains a lot from brush-painting the small details, that is the headlight surrounds, the grille, the handles and the interior details. The gaps between the doors and the hood are brought out by a heavily thinned dark wash or a fine paneliner. If you want to reproduce the two-tone finish with the roof in a contrasting shade, simply mask the roof off and spray it, as the body is smooth and masks easily.
The model is supplied unassembled. Paints, glue and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
