This is a resin detail set of landing gear wheels in 1:32 scale for models of the de Havilland Vampire jet in the Mk.3 and Mk.5 versions. The wheels are made with a weighted effect, that is with a realistically flattened contact patch on the tire. It is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory for greater fidelity. It is made by Reskit.
The de Havilland Vampire was one of the first British jet fighters to reach series service, still in the closing stage of the Second World War, and it then served in many countries. Its characteristic features were the twin tail boom layout and the short fuselage with the pilot's cabin.
Wash the mold release residue off the parts and carefully cut away the supporting blocks. Before cutting, the resin can be warmed in hot water so that it does not crumble. The wheels are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), and sanding should be done with respiratory protection. The weighted effect shows best once a filler primer and a fine wash have been applied.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without the base model. Paints, glue and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
