1:32 DH-100 VAMPIRE - Seatbelts is a set of seat restraint belts intended for large models of the British de Havilland Vampire jet fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
The accessory concentrates on the pilot's seat, specifically on its restraint system. The Vampire has a fairly roomy cockpit with a well-glazed canopy, so that the inside stays nicely readable even when it is closed and every simplified element inside tells.
On 1:32 models the difference between a molded relief of belts and a restraint that can be laid into a free shape is apparent even at a passing glance through the canopy. And if you plan to display the machine with the canopy slid back or with the seat lowered, the detail of the seat becomes the main point to which the eye slides first.
The Vampire was only the second British jet fighter brought into service and the first to manage a crossing of the Atlantic. It was powered by a de Havilland Goblin centrifugal-flow engine, housed in a short nacelle with a mixed wood-and-metal structure that built on experience with the Mosquito. The horizontal tail surface was carried by twin booms running back from the wing. The machine saw a whole range of versions, from fighters and fighter bombers through trainers to carrier forms, and it served in dozens of countries long after the end of the war.
The set suits modelers who watch over the look of the cockpit in a large scale and want it free of distracting simplifications.
