This set is not a model of an aircraft but an aftermarket upgrade for a plastic kit. It contains cast resin parts complemented by photo-etch, with which you replace the simplified cockpit from the box with a richly detailed interior. The set is intended for the injection-molded model of the North American F-100D Super Sabre in 1:32 scale (the kit from Trumpeter).
The F-100 Super Sabre was the first American fighter able to reach supersonic speed in level flight. The F-100D version was a fighter-bomber used, among other places, during the war in Vietnam. The resin set captures the cockpit tub, the instrument panel, the side consoles and the seat precisely; the photo-etch adds the harness and the fine controls that plastic only suggests.
First separate the parts from the casting blocks with a fine saw or a cutter and wash off the mold release residue. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Count on adjusting the fit and possibly reworking the plastic parts of the kit; protect your airways when sanding resin. The interior stands out best when you paint and shade it before closing the fuselage.
This is an add-on set, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
