This resin detail set from Aires in 1:32 scale replaces the cockpit of a model of the F-104G/S Starfighter fighter and holds the Lockheed C-2 ejection seat. It is not an airplane model but a resin accessory for a kit, which markedly raises the fidelity of the pilot's compartment. The form with the C2 seat is a separate variant, different from the version with the Martin-Baker GQ-7A seat. The set is intended for more experienced modelers and is supplied as resin castings to be assembled and painted.
The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter was a slender supersonic fighter with short straight wings. A number of machines of the F-104G and F-104S versions used the original Lockheed C-2 ejection seat, which was only later replaced by a more modern type by some users. A finely rendered cockpit with its instrument panel and seat adds realism to a model.
Wash the mold release residue off the parts, separate the casting blocks carefully and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The interior comes out well with matte shades, a wash into the recesses and a fine dry brush on the edges. Check the fit against the fuselage of your particular kit before installing it.
The detail set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
