The Quinta Studio set of three-dimensional color decals combines three-dimensional printing with printing on decal paper. The elements of the instrument panels, side panels and other parts of the cockpit therefore have real relief and are already painted, so the laborious painting of tiny dials falls away. This is not an aircraft kit, but an accessory for the plastic model you are building. For many subjects the manufacturer issues a full and a smaller variant of the set; this one is the smaller, that is a narrower selection of elements. Check the package contents on the box. The dimensions and shapes follow the Tamiya kit.
The F-15E Strike Eagle is the two-seat combat version of the F-15 family, intended for precision strikes in all weather as well as for air combat. It differs from the fighter versions in its strengthened structure, the conformal fuel tanks alongside the air intakes and the second seat for the weapon systems officer. It entered service at the end of the 1980s. The rear cockpit is fundamentally different from the front one — it is fitted with a set of large-area displays — and in 1:32 scale that is clearly visible on the model, so detailing pays off.
The procedure for three-dimensional decals differs from that for classic wet decals, so follow the instructions in the package. It helps to degrease the surface, to have the interior parts sprayed with a base color and to let them cure fully. Transfer the elements with sharp tweezers and settle them calmly, at the first attempt. A decal softener does not belong here, as it attacks the print. Before gluing, try the set dry against the parts so that you know how they overlap. Once everything has dried, you can unify the cockpit with a fine dark wash and a matte coat to your own taste.
The package contains decals only. The kit, paints and glue are not part of it.
