This resin set holds parts of heavy sand, that is improvised, add-on armor for a plastic model of the American M4A1 Sherman tank with the early hull in 1:35 scale. This is not a tank kit but a detail accessory that adds the characteristic field reinforcement of the armor to a model.
Sherman crews often added protection in the field with extra plates, sandbags and improvised armor to improve their chances against armor-piercing rounds. This sand-filled protection was typical of the later stages of the fighting and gives a model an authentic combat look.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the mating surfaces so that they sit against the plastic hull. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and protect your airways when sanding. The sand surface is a rewarding subject for washes and dry pigments for dust and mud effects.
This is a detail set, not a complete tank model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
