A set of resin landing gear piston rods completed by landing gear locks for a model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 fighter in 1:32 scale. The accessory from the Quickboost range, made by the Czech firm Aires, replaces the simplified parts of the basic kit with finely executed castings. It is not a model in its own right but an accessory for a separately sold kit.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was the most numerously built German fighter of the Second World War, and the G-6 version was among its most widespread variants. The characteristic narrow-track landing gear retracted into the wing, and its mechanism - the shock absorber piston rods and the locks included - is clearly visible on a parked machine, so it deserves to be rendered in detail.
Wash the parts in soapy water and separate them carefully from the casting blocks with a sharp scalpel or a saw; protect your airways while sanding. Given how fine the castings are, work without force and glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the parts together with the landing gear legs; the metal surfaces of the piston rods are best caught by a polishable metallic paint and a fine dark wash.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The basic aircraft kit is not included in the package.
