National insignia stencils 1:32 F-86D/K Sabre Dog let you spray the markings straight onto the surface of the model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of stencils for spraying the insignia and markings of the interceptors in the large 1:32 scale. Painted markings merge with the surface and do not create the edge on a polished base that even the thinnest decal gives away. On a large model that difference shows from a meter away.
The D version formed the backbone of the air defense of the United States in the 1950s and hundreds of them stood on alert at airfields from Alaska to Florida. The export K version entered service with European states and some machines flew long after the American aircraft had gone. Most of them had a natural metal finish with the colored bands of their units added. Those bands and insignia sat on surfaces that shone and reflected their surroundings.
Metallic shades are delicate, so press the stencils down only lightly and let the surface mature long enough before spraying. Spray the insignia separately from the bands, so that the edges do not cross. After lifting the stencils off do not wipe the surface with a cloth; blow the dust away instead. Leave a longer pause between the individual colors of an insignia, as a metallic base dries differently from a matte finish.
Look up the placement of the insignia and lettering from photographs of the aircraft you are building.
