The resin detail set Quickboost engine for the F4U-1D Corsair in 1:32 scale brings a faithful casting of the radial engine for an open cowling face.

A resin detail set from the Quickboost brand in 1:32 scale. It is not an airplane model but a faithful casting of the face of the radial engine, which can be fitted to a matching kit of the American Vought F4U-1D Corsair carrier fighter. The resin casting captures the arrangement of the cylinders and the small ancillaries more precisely than a split plastic part does. The set is meant for more experienced modelers.
The Vought F4U-1D Corsair was an American carrier fighter of the Second World War with a characteristic inverted gull wing. It was powered by the mighty air-cooled Pratt and Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp radial engine of around two thousand horsepower, which gave the aircraft high speed as well as a good rate of climb. The face of the engine is easy to make out from the front, and a faithful rendering of it does a finished model good.
Wash the parts free of mold release residue, separate them from the casting blocks and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin. The engine comes into its own once the metallic shades are painted and the cylinders are picked out with a wash and a dry brush.
This is an add-on resin set, not a stand-alone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
