A set of pre-colored photo-etched seatbelts from the Czech maker Eduard for a model of the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8/R2 fighter in 1:32 scale. It is an upgrade accessory, not a kit. The belts are of thin etched steel sheet (STEEL) with a color print that faithfully imitates the straps, buckles and fittings without the need for further painting.
The STEEL range uses steel sheet instead of brass. Steel is springier and holds its shape better once formed, so the belts look naturally draped over a seat. The color print captures the period appearance of German pilot straps, thanks to which the cockpit looks realistic as soon as they are glued in. In the large 1:32 scale the belts are a pronounced and well visible detail.
Separate the belts from the fret carefully, form them to suit the seat and glue them with a small amount of super glue (cyanoacrylate). Steel takes fine further forming into natural folds. The print can be unified if you wish with a light matte varnish.
This is a detail accessory to a plastic model, not a kit in its own right. Glue and the base model are not included in the package.
