The GasPatch 1:32 Clerget 9B rotary engine, version 2 — a detailed 3D-printed resin engine for models of aircraft of the First World War. It is not a model of an aircraft but a replacement for the plastic engine, for experienced modelers.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detailed 3D-printed resin model of the Clerget 9B rotary aircraft engine (version 2) in 1:32. It is an accessory for advanced modelers, not a model of an aircraft in its own right — the engine replaces the simplified plastic part in a kit and has fine finning of the cylinders and valve gear. Version 2 captures the later form of the engine, modified for production; the sister version 1 corresponds to the earlier form.
The Clerget 9B was a French nine-cylinder rotary engine and one of the most widespread powerplants of Allied fighters of the First World War. It powered machines such as the Sopwith Camel, the Sopwith Pup and some Nieuport types. Later forms brought small production modifications for more reliable running. As with every rotary engine, the whole block of cylinders and the propeller turn around a fixed crankshaft.
Wash any print resin residue off the parts and carefully separate them from the print supports. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The fine finning of the cylinders comes out once a metallic base and a wash have been applied. Protect your airways while sanding.
This is a detail accessory, not a model of an aircraft in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
