An injection-molded plastic kit of the British fighter Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIb in the large 1:32 scale from Revell. It is a modern kit from a new tooling, so the model offers rich surface engraving and, in this scale, a solid size once finished. The Hurricane was one of the main British fighters of the Battle of Britain and it served on many fronts during the Second World War. The Mk.IIb version received a more powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin engine and strengthened wing armament with up to twelve machine guns, or else pylons for bombs. It proved itself as a fighter-bomber and in the ground-attack role. The structure with its tubular frame and partly fabric covering was rugged and easy to repair.
In the large scale the interior detail comes into its own — paint and pick out the cockpit and the engine compartment before you close them up. Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and fit the glazing with masks. Lay down a gloss coat before the decals; spray the large areas with an airbrush and gently bring out the panel lines and the texture of the fabric covering with a wash. Adjust any pylons and bombs to suit the scheme you choose.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
