1:32 Italian seat belts WWII is a set of safety belts for the cockpits of Italian aircraft of the Second World War in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set brings a safety harness according to Italian practice of the years of the Second World War, and that in the large 1:32 scale. It comes into its own in the cockpit of a fighter as well as a bomber, where the seat tends to be well seen once the cover is removed or slid back.
The Regia Aeronautica fielded a whole range of machines that such a harness suits: the biplane Fiat CR.42 Falco, the monoplane Fiat G.50 Freccia, the Macchi series from the C.200 Saetta through the C.202 Folgore to the late C.205 Veltro, and machines of the Reggiane marque. In the first types the pilot sat in an open or only lightly covered cockpit and the harness was a visually prominent element. Italian machines of the later series received German V engines and a slim nose with them, but the arrangement of the pilot's station stayed fairly cramped and simple.
Wartime straps were not new as a rule, as they survived hundreds of hours of service in a cockpit, they rubbed against edges and they darkened from sweat. That is exactly why weathering pays off with them: a lighter base, a dark transition into the folds and a light accentuation of the edges with a dry brush. Brighten the metal parts of the harness carefully after painting, so that they separate from the fabric surface. Let the straps fall outside the seat pan, best of all over the side of the cockpit, as if the pilot had just got out.
