The fourth figure from the numbered range of the Czech brand Black Dog is cast in resin and is meant for models of Japanese aircraft in 1:32 scale. It is not a kit of an aircraft but an accessory that will give a model scale and a human dimension.
One figure, or a group
Because the range contains several numbers, a group of pilots by a single aircraft can be put together from them without the same pose being repeated. If you are planning a scene with several figures, it pays to combine the numbers.
The equipment of Japanese fighter pilots of the Second World War differed according to the theater and the season as well: light summer coveralls, an insulated winter version, a cloth or leather helmet with goggles, a life vest and a parachute harness. The 1:32 scale is an ideal compromise for a figure - the figure measures around 6 centimeters, so buckles, straps and the expression of the face stand out on it, and at the same time it does not take up too much room in a display case.
First wash the casting in lukewarm water with dish soap; the remains of the release agent would otherwise keep the paint from adhering. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a sharp knife and level the cut surfaces with a file, as resin easily breaks out when snapped off. When sanding, work with wet abrasive and protect your breathing. Glue the parts with super glue, fill small gaps with filler and sand them over. A base paint in a thin layer will reveal any faults of the surface. Paint the face and the hands in steps from shadow to light, bring the clothing to life with glazes into the folds and bring the edges out with a dry brush.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted, cast in resin. Glue, paints and a model of an aircraft are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
