Quickboost Kawasaki Ki-61-I exhausts (1:32): resin exhaust manifolds for the Japanese Ki-61 Hien fighter. An aftermarket accessory, not a stand-alone model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin accessory from the Quickboost (Aires) brand in 1:32 scale with exhaust manifolds for the Japanese Kawasaki Ki-61-I Hien fighter. It is not an airplane model but a replacement set that takes the place of the plastic exhausts with more faithfully cast parts, often with the mouths of the stubs suggested, which are hard to produce in injection-molded plastic.
The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien (Allied code name Tony) was a Japanese fighter of the Second World War powered by a liquid-cooled inverted V12 engine, which set it apart from most Japanese radial-engine types. The Ki-61-I version was the basic production series. The inverted V12 engine had characteristic exhaust stubs emerging along the sides of the nose of the fuselage.
Separate the parts from the casting block, clean them up and glue them with super glue. The exhausts come into their own once they are picked out in shades of rust and soot, with a dry brush or with pigments.
The model of the airplane itself is not included in the package. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included.
