Photo-etched Macchi MC.205 Veltro landing flaps in 1:32 scale from the Eduard brand's range.
Responsibility details are not available.
A separate photo-etched set aimed at one particular spot on the model: the flaps on the trailing edge of the wing. It makes it possible to display them in the lowered position, that is the way the aircraft looked parked or shortly after landing.
A model with the flaps down looks livelier than a machine with a smooth wing. The inside of the wing with its ribs and linkages is exposed, and that is exactly the kind of detail people build in a large scale for. On the Italian Serie 5 fighters the wing is also clearly visible, because the Veltro had a slender fuselage and a cleanly arranged structure with no distracting features.
Count on the work reaching into the plastic. The original shape of the trailing edge has to be measured out carefully and altered so that the new assembly sits at the correct angle according to period photographs. Make the cuts slowly and preferably in several passes, because the material will not come back. Before cutting, offer the assembly up to the wing dry so that you know how much material actually has to give way. Fix the finished assemblies with super glue and let them rest before you start varnishing.
The flaps are fitted to a model that you obtain separately.
