Lewis machine gun, pattern A, 1:32 from Plusmodel: a cast weapon for aircraft models and figures.
Responsibility details are not available.
A cast model of the Lewis machine gun in 1:32 scale, in the form the manufacturer marks with the letter A. It is an accessory, not a kit: it replaces a simplified weapon on an aircraft model, rounds out an observer's armament or is added to a figure. In a large scale the weapon is exactly what draws the eye, because every detail can be made out on it.
The Lewis was a light machine gun with a characteristic pan magazine fitted on top, gas-operated and air-cooled. It made its name in the First World War, where it served the infantry and airmen alike, and on aircraft forms the cooling jacket was often removed, because the airflow cooled the barrel by itself. That difference is the most conspicuous mark telling the ground and the aircraft forms of the weapon apart.
First wash the part in lukewarm soapy water so that traces of mold release agent disappear. Separate the casting from the casting block with a sharp knife or a saw, not with nippers. It is glued with cyanoacrylate. Lay down a primer before painting. The weapon suits a dark metal shade, a dark seeping coat in the recesses and light edge highlighting with a dry brush to imitate the wear of use. Tell the wooden parts apart, where the weapon has them, with a warm brown tone.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted and it is an accessory, not a kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
