Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Messerschmitt Me 262 A-1a jet fighter in 1:32 scale from Trumpeter. The kit is among the well regarded large-scale models, with a detailed cockpit, photo-etched parts and a richly rendered surface. Once assembled it yields a large and impressive model of the first jet fighter to be used in combat.
The Me 262 was the first series-produced jet fighter, put into action by the Luftwaffe at the end of the Second World War. It was powered by a pair of Jumo turbojet engines under the wings and its high speed made it superior to the piston fighters of the day. The A-1a version was the basic fighter variant, armed with four cannon in the nose.
First finish the cockpit and the engine nacelles, and only then close the fuselage and the wings. Glue with liquid cement for plastic and use a primer and an airbrush. The typical mottled Luftwaffe camouflage can be managed with an airbrush, with discreet transitions between the shades and a fine wash in the panel lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
