A sizable injection-molded plastic kit of the German jet aircraft Messerschmitt Me 262 A-1a in 1:32 scale from the manufacturer Trumpeter, in the Heavy Armament release. The model captures the A-1a fighter version supplemented with powerful anti-bomber armament - besides its cannon it also carries unguided rockets under the wings. The large scale brings rich detail in both engines, the cockpit and the surface. Check the exact contents of the package and the decals in the manufacturer's instructions.
The Me 262 was the first jet aircraft in the world to be used in combat, powered by a pair of Junkers Jumo 004 jet engines under the swept wings. The basic A-1a fighter version was armed with four cannon in the nose. To strengthen its effect against formations of Allied bombers, a salvo of unguided air-to-air rockets fired from underwing rails was tried out as a supplement. The machine was deployed only at the close of the Second World War.
In the large 1:32 scale, first paint and highlight the cockpit and both Jumo 004 engines, and only then close the fuselage and the nacelles up. Glue the glazing of the canopy with canopy glue and protect it with masks. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic. Apply a gloss varnish before the decals and bring out the panel lines with a wash. Fit the underwing rockets and their rails only after painting. The late-war mottled camouflage will stand out after soft transitions laid on with an airbrush.
