An injection-molded plastic kit of the late version of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-10 fighter in 1:32 scale from Trumpeter. The 1:32 scale offers a pleasant balance of size and detail — a well appointed cockpit, finely engraved panel lines and optional parts. Check the exact package contents and the number of marking options against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Bf 109 G-10 was one of the fastest variants of the Gustav family. It was powered by the improved Daimler-Benz DB 605D engine and was used in the closing phase of the Second World War, mainly in the defense of German airspace. It differed from the middle versions in a number of aerodynamic refinements of the airframe, a modified canopy and details of the equipment. It appeared at a time when Germany was looking for a way to match the performance lead of the Allied fighters, and it is one of the technically most advanced forms of the famous Messerschmitt.
Paint and highlight the cockpit before you close the fuselage. Separate the parts from the sprues and glue them with liquid cement for plastic, and mask the clear glazing before spraying. Apply a primer and the paints with an airbrush, apply the decals over a gloss coat and bring out the panel lines with a wash. In its large sets Trumpeter often supplies rubber tires and small photo-etched parts to refine the detail; the tires can be replaced with resin ones for a more accurate shape.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
