Nieuport 24 bis 1:32 Roden is an injection-molded plastic kit of a French fighter of the First World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This plastic kit from Roden represents the French Nieuport 24 bis fighter biplane in the large 1:32 scale. The bis version differed from the basic type 24 above all in the design of the tail surfaces. The set is made of injection-molded plastic and offers a detailed rotary engine and a well rendered cockpit; decals for period markings are enclosed. The model is meant to be glued and painted.
The Nieuport 24 was one of a line of popular French sesquiplanes, that is biplanes with a markedly narrower lower wing. The 24 bis version combined the new rounded fuselage lines with the older tail design. The machines were used by the Allied air forces on several fronts and a number of aces flew them.
A sesquiplane calls for careful seating of the struts and the bracing wires. Use liquid cement for the plastic and work up the cockpit and the engine before closing the fuselage. Add the rigging wires with fine thread, paint the glossy engine parts in metal shades and shade the fabric surfaces gently.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
