It replaces the plastic main wheels of a kit with faithful castings of tires and hubs, and the set usually includes the tailwheel as well. It is intended for models of the massive American Republic P-47D Thunderbolt fighter.
The Thunderbolt was a large, heavy machine, so its sturdy wheels are a prominent feature on a model. The resin castings offer a fine tread, detailed hubs with brakes and often a weighted tire effect that injection-molded plastic cannot manage. The landing gear thus gains a realistic look in keeping with the weight of the aircraft.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the tires in a matte finish and the hubs in a different shade, and bring them out with a wash if you like.
This is a detail accessory, not a model in its own right. It calls for a matching base kit. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
