Replacement seats for a model of the P-51D or P-51K in 1:32 scale, made for the Dragon kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A seat is more visible in the cockpit of a fighter than you would expect. On the P-51D with its bubble canopy practically the whole of it is exposed under the clear part, so the impression of the whole cockpit rests on its shape and its color finish. The P-51D and P-51K versions differed mainly in the propeller, while the layout of the cockpit stayed essentially the same.
The set replaces the seats from the Dragon kit in 1:32 scale with parts of finer workmanship. It pays off above all on a model with an open cockpit, where you can look inside. What exactly the package holds, including whether belts are part of it, is given in the manufacturer's instructions. Try the fit into the cockpit tub dry, as replacement parts often need the mating face adjusting.
Before painting, wash the part in lukewarm water with a detergent and let it dry, as paint will otherwise not hold on the surface. Cut surplus material and traces of manufacture off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and level the area with fine abrasive paper. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; super glue holds reliably and, unlike cement for polystyrene, does not run over the surrounding surfaces. Paint, highlight and weather the seat before you set it into the cockpit tub; once it is glued in you can hardly reach it with a brush, and a finished cockpit is a bad place for corrections.
The package holds the parts of the set. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
