A resin set of replacement main wheels with a four-spoke hub and enclosed painting masks, in 1:32 scale. It is not an airplane model but an upgrade accessory for models of the Spitfire Mk.IX fighter. The cast wheels offer finer detail of the tread and the hub than injection-molded plastic allows.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX was among the most widely used versions of the legendary British fighter of the Second World War. Fitting the Merlin 60 engine with a two-stage supercharger gave the Spitfire back its advantage at altitude. The four-spoke wheel hub is a typical detail of a number of aircraft of this version.
First wash the resin parts to remove any mold release agent, then cut off the casting blocks. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways while sanding. The enclosed masks make a clean transition between the tire and the hub easier - spray the hub first and only then, once it is masked, the tire.
The accessory upgrades a plastic kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
