A set of antennas for the Panavia Tornado IDS and ECR in 1:32 scale from Quickboost replaces coarsely molded antenna elements with finer parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small but clearly visible accessory for a large model of a combat aircraft. Antennas belong to the parts that tend to be thickened in the mold for technological reasons, and on a model they therefore look clumsy. The replacement elements have a thinner profile and crisper edges, so they come closer to the real form. The set deals with the antennas alone; the other parts of the model stay as the base kit offers them.
The Panavia Tornado was a multirole combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing, developed in cooperation between Germany, Great Britain and Italy. The IDS version served for strikes on ground targets and for penetration at low altitude, while the German ECR concentrated on suppressing and locating enemy air defenses and on tactical reconnaissance. Both variants carried a number of small antenna elements on the fuselage and on the fin, which are characteristic of their silhouette.
Remove the original molded antennas with a sharp scalpel and sand the area gently so that no bump is left after them. Take the new parts off the carrier only just before gluing, otherwise they are easily lost. Fit them with a small drop of cyanoacrylate and check the position from the side and from above. So that they do not get broken off during further handling, add them to the model only once the main painting is finished.
