A resin figure of a modern fighter pilot of the US Navy in 1:32 scale from Black Dog. It is not a kit of an aircraft but an accessory to one. The figure gives a finished model scale and a scene, whether you stand it by the cockpit, on the wing, or seat it in the seat. The 1:32 scale is a rewarding one for figures, because work on the detail of the equipment and the face can be made out on them.
Two separate figures of a modern US Navy pilot are made, number 1 and number 2, and a joint set alongside them. This is the separate figure number 1. Check the pose and the equipment of the particular figure on the package.
Wash the resin castings first in lukewarm water with detergent, so that remnants of release agent disappear from the surface, or the paint will hold badly. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife rather than breaking them, and sand the faces down wet with respiratory protection. The parts are bonded with super glue; ordinary plastic cement does not work on resin. Start the painting with filler primer, then comes the basic tone of the flight suit and the life vest, the drawing in of shadows and a dry brush on the equipment. Leave the face until last and work on it in good light.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the model of the aircraft are not included in the package.
