Thunder Model 1:32 US airfield tug Clarktor 6 MILL-33 with 2 Mark 2 bomb trailers is a detailed plastic kit of Allied airfield equipment of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from Thunder Model in 1:32 scale captures the American Clarktor 6 MILL-33 airfield tug together with two Mark 2 bomb trailers. It is a detailed model of aviation ground equipment with a well worked out engine, a chassis with suspension and the characteristic front bumper. According to the sources the box contains soft rubber tires, a length of real metal chain and photo-etched parts. The model makes an excellent companion to aircraft dioramas.
The Clarktor 6 airfield tug was built by the American Clark company from 1942 and used by the US Army, the British RAF and other Allied air forces. It was used to tow small and medium aircraft, bomb trailers, tankers and other ground equipment. The six-cylinder engine gave it enough power to tow very heavy loads. The Mark 2 bomb trailers with their loading ramp slid easily under the wings or bomb bays of aircraft.
Use thin cement on the plastic and glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Paint and fit the engine, the chassis and the interior before you close them in. For the convincing look of working equipment use washes and pigments for mud, dust and oil traces; bring out the metal chain and the small detail with dry brushing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
