A set of belts for the cockpits of American aircraft of the Second World War in 1:32 scale. Meant for models where the seat is visible under a slid-back cover.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set for rendering the crew restraint in the cockpits of American aircraft of the Second World War period, in the large 1:32 scale.
American fighters of that time had a cockpit that was roomy and well equipped by the standards of the day. The seat tended to be a bucket seat, with a reinforced backrest and with a harness that held the pilot even through sharp maneuvers and g-loads in combat. In a large scale that whole space is clearly visible under a slid-back or hinged cover and a missing strap is told at first sight.
In 1:32 American hardware of this period appears regularly: single-engine fighters with radial as well as inline engines, carrier machines and trainers. The set is listed generally to the era, not to a single aircraft, so it will serve on several models under construction, provided you check the routing of the belts against references for the particular type.
Finish the interior first and let it dry, as the belts belong on a finished surface. Lead the strap over the shoulder and over the side of the seat so that the ends fall loose; a taut, straight belt reads as hard when enlarged. Pick the fittings and buckles out with a darker shade, and lighten the surface of the strap slightly on the edges instead, where it would have worn in service.
