A set of decals from Quinta Studio that transfers a faithful imitation of the laminated (glued) wood of a period Wolff-type propeller onto a plastic propeller. It is not a kit and not a propeller in itself - the decal goes onto a part from your model and takes the place of demanding wood-grain painting. Intended for models of period First World War aircraft in 1:32 scale. The target kit is Roden.

The real subject

The propellers of First World War aircraft were made by gluing several layers of different kinds of wood together. The resulting pattern of growth rings and transitions between the laminations is characteristic of each propeller type and is one of the most conspicuous details on models of period aircraft.

Use

• It is best to lay a suitable light wood shade under the propeller and apply the decal onto it.
• Cut the decal out, dip it briefly in water and slide it onto the propeller blade.
• A final clear coat unifies the sheen and protects the finish.
