Colored Kelik 3D elements for the interior of an A-1H Skyraider model in 1:72 scale, prepared for the Hasegawa kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The A-1H Skyraider is an American single-seat propeller-driven attack aircraft with a massive fuselage and a low-set wing. It became famous for being able to carry a large load of armament under the wing and to stay over the battlefield far longer than the jets it served alongside. The cockpit has classic instrumentation, which is clearly visible on a finished model through the sliding canopy.
The set brings colored interior elements with relief: the instrument panel, the side consoles and other surfaces of the cockpit. They take the place of the laborious hand-painting of tiny dials and controls, which in 1:72 scale is hard to hit with a brush. The elements are shaped for the Hasegawa kit and may not line up on another Skyraider model.
The method of application differs from set to set, so go by the manufacturer's instructions before you start. They also state whether the elements are self-adhesive. Keep the base smooth, clean and degreased and let the paint under the elements cure completely. Transfer an element with fine-tipped tweezers and seat it first time, because repeated shifting does it no good. Finally press it down with a soft stick so that it beds down in the recesses too, and leave the cockpit to dry undisturbed before you close the fuselage.
The set will please modelers who want a legible cockpit even in a small scale without painting under a magnifier. The kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
