This set is NOT an aircraft model but a resin accessory from Aires for the plastic kit of the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-17F Fresco fighter in 1:48 scale. It replaces the original landing gear bays with faithful resin parts with rich detail on the walls, stiffeners and plumbing. The set is aimed at experienced modelers.
Open landing gear bays are among the places a viewer looks into on a displayed model, and in plastic they tend to be shallow and empty. The precisely cast Aires bays add depth and fine structure, so the underside of the model looks realistic without laborious added detail.
Wash the remains of the mold release agent off the parts, cut away the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding resin. Paint and weather the bays before you close and glue the fuselage; they are harder to reach later.
This is an accessory to a kit, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
