1:72 Hiller UH-12A/B Raven, HTE-1, HTE-2 is a masking set from the Peewit brand for the cabin glazing frames in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set from the Peewit brand for a model of the Hiller UH-12 light helicopter in the A and B versions and in the HTE-1 and HTE-2 naval training variants, in 1:72 scale. The name states that this is masking for the cabin frames, that is an accessory for painting, not a model.
The Hiller UH-12, known in army service as the H-23 Raven, is a light helicopter with its crew in a glazed spherical cabin, a lattice tail boom and a two-blade main rotor. It made its name chiefly as a liaison and observation machine and as an air ambulance, which carried the wounded in Korea on litters mounted on the sides of the fuselage. The Navy acquired it under the HTE designation as a training type for helicopter pilots. The large glazed cabin is exactly what is characteristic of the type, and when building a model it is at the same time the hardest area to paint cleanly.
Always finish and glaze the cabin at the very end of the build so that the glazing does not get covered in sanding dust. Degrease the surface, lay the masking on exactly along the engraved edges of the frames and spray the interior shade first, then the outer finish. Apply the paint in thin coats. Once it has gone off, take the masking away and carefully trim any overhang with a sharp scalpel.
