A kit of the small amateur-built Flying Flea aircraft by the French designer Henri Mignet, in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Flying Flea is the collective name for the small aircraft of Henri Mignet, which spread across Europe in the 1930s as machines to build in a home workshop. In France the name Pou du Ciel took hold for them. What sets them apart is the arrangement of the lifting surfaces one behind the other, that is in tandem, and control without ailerons: the pilot changes the flight path by pivoting the front wing and turns with the rudder. The airframe was simple, with a wooden structure and fabric covering, and made do with a small engine.
A kit in 1:72 scale. The subject is among the smallest aircraft of all, so even the finished model will stay small and will fit well into a display case beside larger machines. The number of parts, the contents of the package and the range of markings are stated by the manufacturer in the instructions.
Wash the parts first in lukewarm soapy water and degrease them, as the paint will then hold considerably better. Separate the small parts with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down, so that they do not crack. The fabric covering of the subject comes out best when you lighten the base shade slightly once it has dried and, conversely, underline the ribs and seams with a darker tone thinned into a wash. The struts and bracing are easier to line up by dry-fitting and checking against the instructions as you go.
Paints, glue and building tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
