Double-sided masking templates for the glazing of the AH-64D/E attack helicopter in 1:35 scale. The inner part of the set is made of white rubber.
Responsibility details are not available.
Masking templates cover the transparent parts of a model, so that after spraying the glazing stays clean and the frames around it get a sharp edge. Cutting tape directly on the model is a long job and the edge tends to come out irregular; a pre-shaped template sits on its place and both sides of the cockpit come out the same. The set is made as double-sided, so it covers the outer and the inner face of the glazing and the paint cannot get inside the cockpit either.
The templates are cut to the shape of the glazing of the AH-64D/E attack helicopter in 1:35 scale, and the name assigns them to the kit from the firm Takom. On a kit from another maker they need not fit, because each maker divides the glazing differently and the frames come out slightly off. The inner parts are made of white rubber according to the name; the outer templates are stuck to the surface of the part.
Stick the templates on before spraying, onto cleaned and degreased glazing. Press them down from the center to the edges so that no air stays under a mask and the paint cannot run under. Apply the paint in several thin coats; a heavy coat creates a step at the edge of a mask that stays visible even after it is taken off. Peel the mask off as soon as the paint has set, and pull it slowly to the side rather than straight up, so that it does not take the paint off a frame with it.
The kit of the helicopter, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
