An injection-molded plastic model of the French light tank AMX-13/105 in 1:35 scale from Takom. The model captures the characteristic oscillating GIAT turret with automatic loading from magazines and the 105mm gun. On an oscillating turret it is not only the gun inside the turret that moves, but the whole upper part of the turret tilts together with the weapon — a typical feature of this French design. The kit offers options for building the tank in several forms.
The AMX-13 was a French light tank built from the 1950s. It relied on low weight, mobility and heavy armament in an oscillating turret with automatic loading, thanks to which it could fire a series of rounds quickly. The AMX-13/105 version carried a 105mm gun. The type was very successful on export markets and served in the armies of a number of countries around the world.
Glue the plastic parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic. On armored vehicles, assemble and paint the running gear before you close the hull — afterwards it is hard to reach. Assemble the movable mounting of the oscillating turret carefully according to the instructions. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush in thin coats. For the weathering use washes to bring out the details and pigments for mud and dust effects on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
