An injection-molded plastic kit of the French ARL 44 heavy tank in 1:35 scale from Amusing Hobby. The model has workable track links and photo-etched parts for fine detail. It is an interesting and not very common piece of postwar French hardware that catches the eye in a display case with its massive silhouette.
The ARL 44 was a French heavy tank whose development began in the closing stages of the Second World War, partly already during the occupation. After the liberation of France production was approved, but it fell behind schedule and by the time the tank was finished it was already conceptually obsolete. Only a few dozen were built and they served as an interim type until more modern vehicles replaced them. The ARL 44 thus forms a bridge between prewar and postwar French designs.
Assemble and fine-tune the large running gear, the road wheels and the workable track links before you paint the hull. A primer, an airbrush and the single-color postwar French green scheme work well. Bring out the details with a wash in the recesses, the edges and rivets with a dry brush, and weather the heavy running gear with pigments for dust and mud. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
