A resin replacement barrel in 1:35 scale from PANZER ART. It is not a model of a vehicle but a detail accessory: a gun barrel fitted with a canvas cover of the kind that protected the muzzle and the bore of the weapon from dirt. The accessory is meant for the German Panzer IV and StuG III vehicles in the mid pattern.
A covered barrel gives a model an authentic field look, a vehicle out of combat with a protective cover over its weapon. The resin casting faithfully captures the folds and the texture of the fabric, which are hard to cast in plastic. The part replaces the original barrel from the base kit.
Wash the mold release residue off the part, cut off the casting block and bond it with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer before painting. The canvas cover comes out once the folds are picked out with a wash and a dry brush; a shade slightly different from the metal parts suits it.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. A matching base kit is needed to use it.
