This is a photo-etched detail set from Tetra Model Works, not a vehicle model. The set in thin brass sheet sharpens up a plastic kit of the British AS-90 tracked self-propelled howitzer in 1:35 scale: usually the grilles, the covers, the grab handles, the lifting eyes and other fine elements of the hull and the turret. The set is meant for the Trumpeter kit.
The AS-90 is a British tracked self-propelled howitzer of 155 mm caliber that the British Army took into service in the 1990s as a replacement for older artillery systems. The vehicle carries a fully rotating armored turret and serves for fire support at long range. The AS-90 remains the main tube artillery weapon of the British forces.
The photo-etched parts in thin brass sheet are separated with a sharp knife on a hard surface, bent over an edge or in a bending tool and bonded best with super glue (cyanoacrylate). It is a good idea to degrease both the photo-etch and the plastic before gluing. The finished surface is treated with a primer and sprayed with an airbrush, and the weathering is built up with washes and pigments.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
