1:35 British soldier WW I N°4 is the fourth standalone figure of the British period line in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The last of the single British figures of this numbered line from Black Dog. It is sold one piece at a time, so it lets you tune the cast of a scene to its final form: where three figures already stand, a fourth adds a link between them and closes the composition. The casting is resin and the 1:35 scale matches ordinary period hardware.
British period scenes of the years 1914 to 1918 go together with damp, clayey mud and soaked cloth. On a figure that means three different surfaces: soaked fabric with no gloss, leather with residual gloss on the bends, and metal that is matte and catches the light only on the edges. When those three surfaces are told apart successfully, a small figure gains legibility even from a distance.
Wash the casting, cut off the casting blocks and level the mating surface of the feet so that the figure stands without leaning. Start the painting with a dark base that will stay in the hollows, and brighten the surfaces from there. Build the mud from two tones: a darker soaked one at the edges and a lighter dried one on the raised places. Apply dried spatter with the bristles of a brush from a short distance, working from the bottom upward. Finally check that no folds that should stay legible have been covered.
