1:35 British soldier WWI N°2 is a standalone resin figure of a British infantryman of the First World War period.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second item of the numbered line of single British figures from Black Dog. It is sold as one resin figure, so it can be bought outside the whole line and used to complete a scene that is one soldier short. The 1:35 scale is the most widespread for period dioramas, so the figure matches the height of hardware and terrain elements in the same scale.
British field equipment of the years 1914 to 1918 was woolen, in a muted khaki, with canvas webbing and, from the middle of the war, a steel helmet with a wide flat brim. Trench warfare on the Western Front meant permanently muddy trouser legs, soaked cloth and dulled metal parts. It is exactly this patina that makes period figures a rewarding target for more advanced painting.
You can imitate wool in a small scale with matte shades and a pronounced difference between the folds and the flat areas: a base in muted khaki, a darker tone into the hollows, the tops of the folds brightened. Leather webbing takes a warmer brown, while the canvas parts take a cooler grayish tone. Apply muddy spatter with thinned paint from the boots upward and let it fade out higher up, otherwise it looks stuck on.
