A detail part for modelers who are building the German Pz.Kpfw IV medium tank in 1:35 scale and want the upper part of the running gear according to a particular subject. The cast designation in the name refers to the cast form of the support, and the number 2 to the second rendition in the numbered subseries that the marque created for this tank.
During the war the Panzer IV was produced at several plants at the same time and each of them took components from suppliers of its own. Small castings, among which the supports of the return rollers belong, therefore differ in shape, in reinforcement and in the method of attachment according to who built the particular vehicle and when. Photographs of two machines of the same version with the same month of production may thus show two different solutions. That is exactly why it makes sense to offer several numbered variants and to leave the choice to the modeler.
Before you start cutting anything, lay a photograph of the right and of the left side of the subject next to each other, because the supports need not be identical on both sides. After the original parts have been removed, level the surface, offer the part up dry and only then glue. It proves useful to assemble the whole running gear before the track is fitted and to check by looking along the hull whether the rollers form a straight line.
