About product

1:35 Czechoslovak helmet vz. 32 (detail), a Firma49 resin set

An accessory set of finely 3D printed resin Czechoslovak vz. 32 helmets in 1:35 scale. It is not a model of a vehicle but an item of gear detail for figures and dioramas. The detail version has an elaborately worked shell and brim, so the helmet sits faithfully on the heads of figures.

The real subject

The Czechoslovak vz. 32 steel helmet was adopted in 1932 and was notable for its rounded, egg-shaped form. The Czechoslovak army wore it until 1939 and in later years other states took it over as well. Among the Central European helmets of the period it is a distinctive subject.

Building and painting tips

Before separating the parts from the supports and sanding them, dip them in hot water so that the resin softens and does not chip; once cooled, it hardens again. Wash the parts, cut the print supports off with a sharp tool, glue with cyanoacrylate glue and sand with respiratory protection. Paint with ordinary modeling paints; a fine wash brings out the outline of the shell.

Who the set is for

  • Builders of figures and dioramas in 1:35 scale
  • Scenes from the interwar era and the Second World War
  • Modelers with an interest in Czechoslovak military history
  • Collectors of gear details

The set contains resin helmets only. The figures, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
