An injection-molded plastic kit of the British off-road vehicle Land Rover Defender 110 in the closed Hard Top version, in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. The model has a finely shaped body, a well worked-out engine and clear parts for the glazing; depending on the contents of the box, photo-etched parts and rubber tires are included as well. It is an unassembled and unpainted kit for gluing.
The Land Rover Defender 110 is a rugged British off-road vehicle with four-wheel drive. In military service, among others with the British Army, a version with a strengthened chassis was used for patrol, signals and supply duties. The Hard Top version with its fixed closed body was intended above all to carry cargo and crew across country.
Paint the engine and the interior before the body is closed up. Fit the glazing only after painting and protect it with a mask while you airbrush. For a faithful look, spray the base coat with an airbrush, put washes into the details and use pigments for a dusty chassis and dusty tires. Before gluing, clean the flash and the remains of the sprue gates off the parts and test fit the individual pieces dry; glue with a liquid cement for plastic, which joins the seam firmly and cleanly. For better paint adhesion apply a primer first and spray in thin coats, ideally with an airbrush. Before weathering, even the surface out with a varnish and let every coat dry thoroughly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
