Three sheets of pre-cut parts make it possible to spray the complete digital pattern onto the hull, the turret and the barrel of a model in 1:35 scale. The heart of the set is the layout of the color fields itself in the version documented for 2014, which differs from the earlier parade rendition in the shape and the density of the pixel clusters. The material is thin and semi-transparent, it takes a bend over a curve and after gentle removal it will stand further use.
The checkered scheme came out of the finding that the human eye can easily infer a smooth curve but copes less well with an angular cluster of small fields. The pattern thus breaks up the outline of the vehicle at several distances at once: from close up the individual squares are visible, from a distance they merge into an indistinct blotch. For ground equipment, which often stands in one place for a longer time, that is a substantial advantage.
The recommended sequence is from the lightest shade to the darkest. Press the edges of the parts down with a blunt tool and spray strictly at right angles, because under a slanting jet the paint runs under the edge and the squares smear. Let a layer set between the individual shades.
