A turned metal barrel 75 mm for the KwK 40 L/48 gun with the early muzzle brake in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Aber. A metal replacement for the plastic barrel for models of German medium tanks.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a turned metal barrel in 1:35 scale from the Polish manufacturer Aber, made with a muzzle brake of the early type. It replaces the plastic barrel of the 75 mm KwK 40 gun with a barrel length of 48 calibers. It is not a model of a tank but a detail accessory, which gives a build an exact barrel profile and a finished muzzle.
The 7.5 cm KwK 40 L/48 gun was the main armament of the late versions of the German medium tank Pz.Kpfw. IV. Lengthening the barrel compared with the earlier L/43 form improved the muzzle velocity and the penetrating power, thanks to which the vehicle held its own against Soviet medium tanks. The form of the muzzle brake changed during production; the early and the late form differ visibly from each other and are a guide to identifying the production series.
Cut off the plastic barrel at the cradle and level the opening. Fit the metal part dry, verify the axis and only then glue it with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) on a degreased surface. Before painting, lay on a base coat meant for metals. Paint the muzzle brake carefully, so that the openings do not get clogged, and suggest any wear of the paint with a dry brush.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
