A resin set capturing the engine of the American LAV-25 amphibious wheeled vehicle in 1:35. It is not a model of the vehicle but a detailed casting of the powerplant with which a modeler fills an open engine compartment and creates a striking view into the innards of the vehicle. The castings come from the Czech manufacturer Black Dog, known for the quality of its resin castings.
The LAV-25 is an eight-wheeled armored vehicle of the US Marine Corps, derived from the Swiss Piranha design. It serves for reconnaissance and transport and is armed with a 25 mm cannon. Showing the engine gives a model under an open cover a marked added value.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts in lukewarm soapy water. Carefully cut the casting blocks off with a saw and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue the resin with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). An engine comes into its own when the detail is brought out: a base with an airbrush, then oil washes and dry traces of operating fluids for a realistic look.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model of the vehicle itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
