1:35 Fenders for the Panzer I Ausf. A is a Voyager Model photo-etched add-on set, not a tank model: the brass fenders replace plastic parts on a Dragon kit you already own.
Responsibility details are not available.
A targeted photo-etched set in 1:35 scale from the Chinese manufacturer Voyager Model. It concentrates on the fenders of the Panzer I light tank in its Ausf. A version, that is on a part that on a plastic kit is always markedly thicker than the scale would call for, for technological reasons. It is not a kit of the vehicle but replacement parts for the Dragon plastic model.
The Panzer I Ausf. A was a German light tank from the first half of the 1930s, armed only with machine guns and manned by a crew of two. It came about above all as a training and interim type for introducing armored units, and against the medium tanks of the day it was lightly armored. The fenders with their sheet-metal run-ups and supports are among its most characteristic external features, and their scale thickness changes the overall impression of the model considerably.
With long photo-etched parts flatness decides everything. Cut the piece off carefully first and never break it out, because a broken-out part carries a twist that is hard to straighten afterwards. Flatten the fenders by running a steel ruler over them on glass and only then bend them. Brass can be briefly annealed over a flame until dark and left to cool; it softens and holds its shape better without springing back. Glue the supports on only after the main part is seated on the hull, otherwise the dimensions will not meet. Incidentally, it pays to leave a slight bend and some wear on the fenders: on the real vehicle this was heavily stressed sheet metal.
This is an add-on set, not a model. The plastic kit, glue, paints and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
