It is not a model of a vehicle or a figure but a plant for the undergrowth with which a diorama or a vignette is fitted out. The manufacturer also makes variant No.2, so the ferns can be built in clumps without repeating one shape.
The fern is one of the few plants that works across subjects and climates. It grows in the shady undergrowth of European forests just as it does in the tropics, it keeps to the feet of trees, to slopes, around stones and in damp gullies. In a diorama it therefore suits the Western Front as well as the Pacific battlefields and serves just as well in civilian and fantasy scenes.
